Luke 10:2-3
My flight is delayed so I thought I’d share a story…
Last night I took my things to my new residence. For the next year, I have committed to living in community as a Mission Corps volunteer, to help young unwed mothers who are in a crisis pregnancy situation and need to experience grace, love and acceptance. It’s an exciting time for me because I truly believe I am allowing the Lord to lead me. I dropped my things off because for the next week I will be visiting family in Sacramento before my new position begins. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I have a closet and dresser all to myself! I was afraid I might have too many things even though I have given away just about everything I own other than a few clothes and personal items.
This morning at the hotel while having coffee I opened my bible to a random page and it was on Luke 10…I had previously underlined this portion of Jesus instructing his disciples…he said,”The harvest is great but the workers are few, So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.”
I had to laugh when I read that because it was like total confirmation for me that I am one he is sending out! I was a little relieved to see that I had NOT underlined the following verse…Luke 10:4
“Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road.”
And there’s more to this story…to be continued.😉
Lol! Thank you Jesus!
