This is the current state of affairs I find myself in…NOW WHAT?
My year of service at http://www.maggiesplace.org came to an end on January 31, 2017 and it’s been kind of a period of uncertainty since then. I know that deserves more of an explanation, that’s why this post is just “Part I”. It’s going to take some time to get it all down; it’s been quite a while since I’ve taken the time to submit a blog post. I have a litany of excuses for why that is including lack of time, computer issues, quiet space…it goes on and on but the truth of the matter is: We do what is important to us. In my case, other things creeped back to the top of my list.
Somehow, today, at this current time in my life’s journey, I feel a new surge of excitement to return to documenting my experiences. This may never be anything more than my own personal account of how the Spirit of God is living in and through me to see my own life changed. However, I choose to believe our loving Father (in His great wisdom and unending mercy) is bringing about change in the people I come into contact with as well. I’ve witnessed it in the people I love as well as strangers I’ve met from day to day.
I’m sure this makes little to no sense to someone who has yet to experience the life changing transformation that takes place when you surrender your heart to the one who gave His life for you. But that’s because in this world we are “programmed” to think in a natural sense…we are carnal in nature. Carnal simply means “of the flesh” and that just means of our five senses. We think in terms of what we can see, taste, hear, smell and feel. Many of us live by our emotions and do what we think “feels good” in the moment whether that’s indulging in sexual pleasure, a rude comment, anger towards another, or a hot fudge sundae. Others live strictly by logic…they make up in their mind what is right and what is wrong based on their understanding of what “makes sense” logically and they can’t be swayed from that. Unfortunately, neither way is correct. We are called to live according to the Spirit which lives inside of us. We are called to walk by faith and NOT by sight 2 COR 5:7. We are also called to die to ourselves, take up our cross and follow Jesus…some days that comes easily and others, not so much.
But God is a Spirit…and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM! 2 COR 3:17. A surrendered heart knows that freedom. A surrendered heart knows the love of God and takes comfort in His promises. The Bible says we should…”Be not conformed to this world but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind so that you can prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
It’s good to start writing again…
And a very good start it is. 🙂
“…it goes on and on but the truth of the matter is: We do what is important to us.” How true this is., and we are all guilty at some point or other and in varying degrees.
Nice to see the spirit moving within you again. I smiled when I saw the ‘notification’ in my ‘in’ box. Looking forward to more, and to hearing from you as well.
Have a blessed day.
