Do you hear it?

His still small voice…He is with you wherever you find yourself today, right now.  He is here!

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you will hear His voice do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness…” (Hebrews 3:7-8)

I’ve been doing some studying lately, spending some time in the word; drawing nearer to God.  What I’m finding is exactly what His word says…as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.  (James 4:8)

The bible is the word of God.  It is God breathed, living and active…but we don’t get the revelation of His word until we actually read it and hear it.  When we surrender to Him by allowing our hearts to be opened and our ears to hear His still small voice, He will speak His wisdom and mysteries to us.  He won’t compete for our attention though.   He will allow us to make our own choices.

26 “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: 27 the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; 28 and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.

(Deuteronomy 11:26-28)

God calls to us…each of us.  And the bible says we are to believe…and if we believe we will receive.  (Mark 11:24).  Belief has a BIG part to play in all of this.  When our hearts are open He can work in and through us.  We have to surrender and believe.  When our hearts are hardened we close ourselves off to the possibilities of all God has for us; of all His blessings. It’s not God punishing us, we close the door.  We always have the option to listen to His call or to ignore Him.  That’s called “free will”.  As we read His word, He is telling us His will.  His will is for us to hear His voice, for us to know our position in the kingdom (as sons and daughters) and for us to follow Him.  If we choose to ignore His still small voice, His blessing will be lifted from us and we will remain under the curse.  If we will listen and do not let our hearts grow cold and hard, we will live in His blessing and can enter His rest.

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you will hear His voice do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness…” (Hebrews 3:7-8)

Great stuff, and just what I needed to “hear.”

  2. Hi Tony! Thanks for reading. I pray your ears remain open to all He is speaking to you this Christmas Season. That your heart remain open and receptive to ALL His blessings, and by believing you will receive all that you ask in His name.
