I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed…Genesis 26:4
God said that to Abraham…it’s recorded in the Bible and He did it.
I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for Abraham and Sarah to know what God said and still not see any fruit…FOR YEARS!!! They struggled…so much so that they took matters into their own hands, like God needed a little help! How often do we do the same? We are so impatient. Of course they came to regret it later, when God actually blessed them with Isaac. By this time Ishmael, born of the bond-woman, was a teenager. He and his mother were sent away, but because God is faithful, He still blessed Ishmael. The Bible says he was a warrior and was like a wild donkey, but God blessed Ishmael because of His promise to Abraham. He made a great nation from him as well.
Isaac, born of the free woman Sarah, was the seed of the inheritance, the seed of God’s promise, and the beginning of the bloodline of king David and our Messiah.
We can’t know the plans that God has for us in their entirety but if we trust that they are good, and we trust in His faithfulness, we can know that He will see it through to completion and He will work it all out for good. I believe that with my whole heart. I believe He is good and I believe that His plan for me (for us) is good. Now if I could just step out of His way!
I won’t lie, it’s tough right now.
I’ve been struggling to write something…my last post was mid March. That’s ridiculous! For someone who wants to be a blogger, I’m failing miserably! But I guess that just brings me back to the word He gave me for this year…PATIENCE. I guess that includes being patient with myself as well.
Up next…(who knows when…) “Gentleness”. =)
5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.
It’s not the quantity of posts, Jackie. It’s the quality, and yours are always worth waiting for.

I feel you, Jackie. I haven’t had a major post in awhile. I do daily verses, but nothing more than that. Keep going; like Tony said, your posts are worth waiting for.
