What’s Your Function (Part III)🤔

Think on this parable Jesus shared with the priests and teachers in the temple one day…

Matthew 21:28-32

““But what do you think about this? A man with two sons told the older boy, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’ The son answered, ‘No, I won’t go,’ but later he changed his mind and went anyway. Then the father told the other son, ‘You go,’ and he said, ‘Yes, sir, I will.’ But he didn’t go. “Which of the two obeyed his father?” They replied, “The first.” Then Jesus explained his meaning: “I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do. For John the Baptist came and showed you the right way to live, but you didn’t believe him, while tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even when you saw this happening, you refused to believe him and repent of your sins.”

When I think about this it makes me wonder…am I saying yes but not really doing what He’s asked?

This is hitting pretty deep in my spirit right now. I’ll have to think about this one for a while and revisit this blog later.

Ask the Lord to show you what He’s really asking you to do. Are we being obedient to our calling or are we just saying yes and doing our own thing?

    1. It is, isn’t it? I’m pondering it myself…I often find that I jump ahead of what the Lord is calling me to. I’m still learning to hear His still small voice and I think sometimes I have “selective hearing” even with the Lord. I often hear (and act) on what I want to hear…but He is so patient and kind to us. I believe Romans 8:28… And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. So, with saying that, I believe He is working everything out when we are seeking Him and looking for His will for our lives…eventually through trial and error He gets us where and even “how” we are supposed to be. His love never fails! Thanks for reading and especially thanks for the comment!
