I have made the decision to believe the Bible…it wasn’t hard to do, once He saved me He started opening up His word to me and gave me this incredible urge to get to know Him through His word. I can’t help but believe it. The Bible says He gives this to us…(Hebrews 10:16-18)
“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.”
Hebrews 10:16-18
And it declares:
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:16
That is why this year, I have decided it’s about time I read the whole bible! Not just bits and pieces randomly, but the whole thing. I can’t believe I’ve never done that yet. 53 years old and I’m just now reading the Bible! 🤦🏻♀️
I’m on a mission to get it done before the year is up…and then I’ll go back and start again chronologically and take my time. But right now…I’m on a mission! And I was just wondering who of my friends has read the Bible?
I’ve read it a couple times. The first time I read it was in chronological order. It was amazing as I highlighted anything that spoke to my heart. The second and third times I read it, it was a chapter from genesis and a chapter from matthew and so on. It was a program that I followed. The way they designed it to line up with correlating scriptures made it come even more to life. Word of advice….don’t feel guilty if you fall asleep during leviticus and those alike. 😉

I support you! I’ve read the New Testament through a couple times. But not the Old Testament.

I have read it completely 4 times using a NLT Bible in one year with an NLT Life Application study bible as a companion to help with understanding. I also have a chronological one year Bible as well as several other translations and study Bibles.
There are many ways to approach it. Best to begin at the beginning and remember the answer to the question, “How do you eat an elephant?”
One bite at a time.
I also recommend. A 2 volume set by Mark Dever. The Message of the Old Testament: Promises Made, and The Message of the New Testament: Promises Kept. He goes through and explains each book, in order, in a way that even I could understand. Great tool and he is a great teacher.
That’s all I have for you.😁

That’s great! Thanks Tony. Nice to hear from you. (I know, I know…I owe you an email…I’m a little behind on a lot of things.) It’s been a busy few months with everyone in my family being in poor health! I’ll get caught up someday! Thanks for your reply!
