This is kind of profound if you really break it down.
God is good
God is forgiving
He abounds in steadfast love to…all, right?
Well, that’s usually where we leave it but it says more, doesn’t it?
To all who do what?
To all who CALL UPON HIM.
He is good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love…to all who call upon Him!
…look up those words “abound” and steadfast”…you want some of that action…abounding steadfast love!
He offers it to you. But just like a child would ask his earthly father for a drink of water b/c he can’t get it on his own, we need to humble ourselves and call upon our Heavenly Father b/c we can’t get this forgiveness on our own either.
Don’t be fooled by those who would tell you that’s a “work”. That is not a work. It is actually a command. To seek the Lord with your whole heart and to call upon Him.
1John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
