Romans 10:17
So then, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (KJV)

God’s Word…it changes things.
I first began listening to the word of God accidentally…it was the Biblical principles woven throughout the content of Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University material that got me interested in learning more about what the Bible teaches. Â The Biblical principles of money management made so much sense to me that I determined if the Bible was right about that I could imagine God had a lot more to say that would also be worth listening to and understanding. Â I started listening to some preachers online and learned that God had a plan for my life; I learned that the Bible is filled with the information I needed to live my life with purpose and in a way that brings glory to God. I discovered when I repented of my sins and surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ that my life was not my own; I had been bought with a price. Â I was purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the Spotless Lamb of God, the Son of God…the One who gave His life for me. Â There was nothing good that I had done or could ever do. Â It was all about Him. Â Once that TRUTH hit my soul I knew there was no turning back. Â I belonged to Him. Â And a sense of peace and joy filled me in a way I will never be able to explain.
This year I’ve decided to start actually reading the whole Bible…cover to cover, Genesis to Revelation, beginning to end. Â For the most part, I’m listening to the #YouVersion audio Bible while I follow along in my physical Bible. Â Hearing and seeing the words has been very helpful. Â I’m not taking any notes really or looking anything up this time around, I’m just listening and reading to get from start to finish. Â Once I’ve done that, I’m going back through in chronological order and taking my time to look some things up as they come along. Â I’m very excited to do this. Â I’m currently in the book of Job…way ahead of schedule for the “Read Through the Bible In A Year” plan.
My purpose for this post is to get you thinking about doing this. Â I can promise you, if you do this, He will not disappoint you. Â Test it for yourself!
The Bible tells us that when we seek Him we we will find Him when we seek Him with our whole heart Jeremiah 29:11-13 .  I think that means we have to really want to find Him.  Like when you’d play “Hide-and-Seek” as a kid.  You actually had to go looking for the ones hiding.  We have to have a sense of expectation and a sense of sincerity.  You can’t really seek Him if you’re not reading and hearing His word.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
This is the explanation of how Jesus is the Word made flesh…you can read about it here in John Chapter 1.  Read this slowly and out loud and let the meaning take root in you.  Jesus Christ IS THE WORD…we seek Him by reading the Bible…and He speaks to us through the written word.  It is truly an incredible exchange that takes place.  He will guide you, He will bring you peace, you can communicate with God.
Prayer is how we talk to God…the Bible is how God speaks to us.
Psalm 119:105 says Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
May God bless you and light your path as you seek Him through reading His word each and every day…Amen and Amen!
Amen.Ty

All glory to God! That’s a lovely compliment…I consider myself a student of His word right now and I love sharing what I’m learning. I am always awe struck and amazed when I realize that He speaks to me. It something that can’t adequately be expressed or explained in words. When you read the Bible and are praying about something and you get an answer to your prayers…it’s like the words just jump off the page. The Creator of the universe wants to communicate with us and He does so when we read His word. It’s NOT through mysticism…NOT through divination, NOT through pyschics…but though His Word. The Holy Spirit who the Father sent to teach us ALL things (John 14:26) will open our eyes to the truth of the Scriptures. He is my Teacher, my Counselor, my Guide, my Comforter. As we study the Bible He helps us to know when someone says something that does not line up with Scripture. When the Truth (the Word…Jesus) is in you, you know the voice of the Shepherd and you won’t follow another. But how can we know the Truth is in us if we aren’t reading His word…we can’t discern the errors if we don’t know the truth.

Amen! We should all humble ourselves as students of His word! He resists the proud but gives grace (His word) to the humble.
